HARRIETT STELLA
Kia ora! I’m Harriett, a director based in Auckland, NZ.
My mahi is shaped by a love of performance directing and a desire to capture the nuances of human connection.
I performed on the Globe Stage in London and starred in a viral webseries before realising my true calling is on the other side of the process. In 2015, I was AUT’s Television & Screen Production graduate of the year. My short films (ANNA, Lani’s Space & Flock) have been recognised and awarded internationally.
I have been directing commercially in 2017. I have directed commercials locally and internationally for brands like ABC, Honda, Visa, Pharmaco, and Vice.
In addition to directing TVCs, I also work as a casting director, and stretch my creative brain across a variety of personal projects. My ongoing series, single/single, allows me to explore one-take monologues with actors I love.
I also direct theatre shows, including the recent sold-out season of debut play, Big Time, now in further development.
My experience across the creative industries shapes a holistic, instinctive, and empathetic directing style.
